Press release

Make sure your fireworks night goes with a bang at www.multimap.com

31 October 2007

Keen to ensure this bonfire night is a roaring success? You can now plan ahead and visit www.multimap.com to find organized firework displays in your local area.

The site – one of the top 10 most visited in the UK and renowned for its range of free, useful services to assist with everyday life – has a new Fireworks Finder feature in preparation for the wealth of celebrations planned during the month of November.

Simply enter your address, town or postcode and you will be shown a list of local events. The listing includes all the information you will need about the event itself, such as pricing for children and adults, and of course maps and directions for how to get to the event of your choice.

So, for example, if you live in London, and wanted to attend a firework display on Friday 2 November 2007, you could choose from a range of free events including: Clapham Common, Brockwell Park, Bishop's Park or Streatham Common, and print off driving or walking directions of how to get there from home or work.

And for those who have trouble remembering why we celebrate the 5th of November, you can even look up a brief history of Guy Fawkes Night. Here you will find traditional rhymes associated with this historic event as well as culinary customs and references to Guy Fawkes Night in popular culture.

You can also add your own sparkle to the bonfire night celebrations by adding information on firework displays that you are aware of to the site. Help to build up the list of events, by emailing the details to fireworks2007@multimap.com.
