Multimap, Europe’s leading online mapping provider, and the British Heart Foundation have joined forces to help in the nation’s fight against heart disease. Multimap’s “Storefinder” service is now live at www.bhf.org.uk, enabling people to find their nearest BHF shops, Heartstart UK emergency life support training schemes, Cardiac Support Groups and BHF professors, in a matter of seconds.

Bertrand Bosrédon, Online Manager at the British Heart Foundation, stated, “The purpose of our web site is to communicate valuable information about heart disease to patients, medical professionals, volunteers and other interested parties. Maps are enabling our users to find BHF locations. It is important to promote our emergency life support groups (Heartstart UK) who have trained over one million people in the UK. We also have over 480 BHF charity shops across the country and their details need to be accessible easily. We used Multimap on our anti-smoking website to locate stop smoking groups and it was the partner of choice when we decided to offer maps for our other services.”

To access Multimap’s ‘Storefinder’ service on www.bhf.org.uk/area, visitors click ‘Search for the BHF in Your Area’ link. Next, they enter their postcode, town or street name; select a service type (cardiac support groups, Heartstart UK schemes, professors, book banks, clothing banks and BHF shops); and hit ‘Search’. Multimap delivers a list of the top ten nearest BHF locations, along with contact details, distance from location entered, and a link to a street-level map. Coloured squares pinpoint the whereabouts of the nearest BHF locations, and all maps delivered have zooming and panning functionality.
