In-line maps are quick to go live and easy to maintain

Active Hotels, one of Europe’s leading online reservations providers to the hotel industry, deployed Multimap’s In-line service on its website to help customers make an informed decision about which accommodation provider to select. Users of www.activehotels.com can now view content-rich maps, with zoom in/out functionality, for each of its 10,000-strong pool of accommodation providers across the UK and the rest of Europe.

Customers enter a location, attraction, postcode, or hotel name on the Active Hotels home page, and Multimap delivers a list of suitable hotels plus an overview map pinpointing their respective locations. The mapping of multiple hotels on one map enables users to see where hotels are in relation to both each other and to the location entered. Users then click on the ‘View hotel details’ link for a hotel of interest, and Multimap delivers a detailed, content-rich map of the area, which pinpoints local services such as places of worship, restaurants, museums and galleries. Users zoom in/out to adjust their view.

Active Hotels’ booking service is also available via Multimap’s consumer website, www.multimap.com, exposing its services to a potential audience of in excess of 10 million unique users.
